Personal, Entrepreneurial Success means to me...

Over time I have heard many definitions of success:

Success is...

* when you can control your time and money, which are the 2 most important things you own in life
* when you are happy after you accomplish something
* when your family is happy and proud of what you have done
* when you win something
* going from failure to failure without the loss of enthusiasm
* a never ending journey, not a destination
* when you are spiritually, mentally, physically, culturally and financially blessed
* one man's opinion of another
* when you are in charge of yourself - self-control

This is what Success means to me:
"Success is when I know I have the self control to take the necessary steps to accomplish what I have set out to achieve. It's about the journey, not the destination. If I can stay in control during the journey, then I am successful."

ENTREPRENEURS: IT'S "BE DO HAVE", NOT "HAVE DO BE"

Most people think if they HAVE money, time, energy, health, faith or love, then they can DO the things they need to do to get the results they want, then they can BE the people they want to become.

I believe it should be the other way around. In order to be successful you must first BE the person you want to become, then DO the things you would do to become that person, then you will HAVE all the money, time, energy, health, faith and love in your life.

The Power Of Being An Entrepreneurial Boomer

The power of being an Entrepreneurial Boomer and starting an online-small business is very simple in this day of business 2.0. Did you know one of the fastest growing groups of self-employed workers are those between the ages of 55 to 64?

Here are some simple business facts:

* Small businesses make up 99% off all employment firms in the U.S.

* Small businesses employ more than 56 Million people in he U.S.

* Home-based enterprises represent 53% of all small businesses

Leveraging the power of your experience with decades of work behind you, todays retirees have the skills and knowledge to start businesses on their own terms.

Here are a few tips, and ideas that I have learned that will help you in getting your online-business started and on the Internet today.

1.) First don't crack open that retirement nest egg; Resist the temptation to cash out some of your retirement money to fund your new business venture. Instead think about asking family members, friends, find an angel investors, or look into a business grants and loans to assist you in your new business venture

Key: Start based on what you can afford. "GROW" the business. Watch what you give away to get the money. Investors and lending institutions usually want control of the business. It’s ok to play hardball here.

2.) Consider SBA Loans; The Small Business Administration will help new businesses get up and running. Some of the loans can be used to finance your fixed assets, for example business conferences, training materials, and computers.

Having a lower down payment and longer terms than a conventional loan means lower monthly payments.

3.) Entrepreneurial Boomers over the age of fifty have plenty of experience and confidence, make sure you get fully informed regarding the business. Most information is free. It will cost you time and/or money to find it. Decide what you can afford to invest... time or money. If you cannot find it, source for it. Terms are usually a lot better and quality of service is usually higher. Make it a win-win.

4.) Want to build a website but don't know how to build a web site, that’s ok. There are self-service companies that will help you create a custom website and allow you to make adjustment on the fly as you become adjusted to your business and market. There are many companies that will create a site for as little as $149.00. Or you can find a business where this is already created for you.

By utilizing these tips and tools that are available to you the “boomer entrepreneur”, you can create in the age of the Internet and business 2.0 a business that can be open 24 hours per day world wide without any limitations.

By harnessing the power of such Internet tools as Google, MSN, Yahoo, and U Tube. You can be well on your way to a very lucrative and empowering online business that will allow you a phenomenal boomer lifestyle.
